April 25, 2020 Newsletter

If we had a nickel for every time our kids asked to leave the house……

In the midst of conflicting numbers, protesters, press conferences and waning patience, warmer temperatures and sunshine in Indiana is just what we needed to blow the cobwebs off of six weeks staying at home. Our resolve is bolstered by fresh air, chirping birds, and the inspiring acts of our neighbors. Since we can only take one day at a time, we will continue to be grateful for each day.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of several clients this month. Our condolences go out to all of the families who have lost loved ones. May their legacies be as long as their impact was deep.

Market Update

From the Desk of Gene Trueblood, CFA

A rather infamous quote from former Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld, captures much of our current predicament, when the future seems so uncertain: “There are known knowns; these are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns- the ones we don’t know we don’t know.” Click here to download recent commentary from CFA Gene Trueblood.
