January 12, 2021 Update

January 12, 2021

Dear Clients,

January 1, 2021 marks the first anniversary of Bookends Financial Planning becoming a Registered Investment Advisory practice. As financial services industry trends support values-based advisory relationships over the legacy promotion of high commission investment products, we continue to believe our responsibility is to keep our clients’ interest above our own and embrace the fiduciary obligation to do so. We are excited to share that our firm continues to grow and we are honored to have so many trusted relationships with our clients.
A year ago we could not have predicted all that 2020 brought, we are grateful for the flexibility and support that allowed us to maintain operations through what will be a year we will not soon forget. We are happy to have retained Raymond James as our custodian, providing access to the research and resources that clients have been accustomed to for years. We have onboarded new portfolio research and management tools into our investment management process. Financial planning tools have been updated to include the latest enhancements to help clients make important financial decisions. The move to independence also meant that we were able to add additional team members, meet our newest associate, Katie, below.

Sarah Boston had fun experimenting with videos in 2020 and is excited to roll out the series for 2021 – Come to the Table – that also includes a podcast and monthly webinars. We look forward to seeing all of you this year to highlight these resources and hope you’ll tune in for Sarah’s videos, podcasts and webinars!

Congratulations, Chandy Wilcoxon!

Financial Advisor Chandy Wilcoxon has done what so many clients before her have enjoyed. After a long career in banking and financial services, Chandy has decided to retire. She looks forward to spending more time volunteering and with her family, traveling with her husband David is also high on the list (when that’s possible again!) Saying goodbye to a valued member of our team isn’t easy but we are excited for Chandy and this next phase of life.

I have spent many hours thinking of how to say “Thank You” for the trust you have placed in me over the years and for the friendships that have grown over this time. Please accept my sincere and utmost gratitude. -Chandy

Sarah Boston has assumed managing client accounts and looks forward to working with everyone. Unfortunately, Chandy’s retirement celebration had to be postponed, we plan to reschedule in 2021 so stay tuned for details later in the year!

Economic Commentary

It’s been a busy 2021 in political news and has many people wondering how will markets and the economy react to the news. The Washington Policy group at Raymond James provides some commentary:
